These considerations are often as necessary to clients as the numbers you present during reviews. They reflect personal goals that go beyond the performance of a portfolio.

Emphasising performance alone can be a risky strategy. Why? Markets are unpredictable. Volatility is an inherent part of the investment journey, and downturns are inevitable. Trust can quickly erode when returns fall short if the relationship is solely based on performance. Clients who don’t feel their broader needs are acknowledged may seek advisors who offer a more comprehensive service. This underlines the importance of a holistic approach to wealth management.
