Yesterday, I attended an inspiring event that blended high-level strategic moves with hands-on insights. Learning directly from a chess grandmaster was truly unforgettable. It revealed how decision-making, anticipating moves, and adapting to complex situations apply not only to leadership but also to resilience in today’s fast-changing world. These strategies go far beyond the chessboard. They serve as powerful tools for tackling real-world challenges, staying agile, and always thinking several steps ahead.
The event began with deep discussions around global issues: how geopolitics impacts business, energy markets in flux, and why financial resilience matters in uncertain times. Experts from diverse fields shared fresh perspectives, creating a rich flow of ideas on how these shifting forces reshape industries and influence stability. Each session built on the last, adding layer upon layer of insight. Together, these discussions encouraged us to rethink traditional approaches.
The room was buzzing with excitement as we reached the grandmaster’s session. This part of the day sparked curiosity and camaraderie among everyone, providing us with a fresh angle on strategy. It highlighted the essential role of adaptable thinking, not only in business but also in everyday life and decision-making.
Thanks to Bank Julius Baer for such an engaging and impactful ‘Strategic Move’ experience. The event combined high-level insights with unique learning moments. Because of this, it was truly one to remember. I’m leaving with new perspectives, valuable contacts, and, above all, a fresh appreciation for strategy—on and off the board.
