The Garmin fēnix 3 is a Smartwatch for activity tracking and navigation. The brilliant design is immediately noticeable. Wearing the watch in everyday life is possible.

Fēnix automatically downloads updates via WLAN and synchronises activities and personal progress. In combination with a Bluetooth paired smartphone, the watch shows its full potential. It becomes a Smartwatch including information about incoming messages or calls. Besides, those at home can follow the sports activities via live tracking.

Via Connect IQ, the Garmin fēnix 3 can be adapted to personal needs with individual apps, widgets or additional data fields. With fēnix 3, Garmin is going in the right direction for me. Especially with the option of integrating an iPhone and the freely configurable colour display.

In winter I’m curious about the ski profile mode, which records speed, distance and altitude differences. Here, an iPhone has often made a breakdown due to the temperatures or the battery. The battery of Garmin fēnix 3 in GPS mode lasts between 20 and 50 hours or up to six weeks in normal watch mode.

The Garmin fēnix 3 was ordered from Digitec. Even though the warranty requirements are incredibly particular.

Pros: Battery Power, Functionality, Apps, iPhone integration
Cons: A bit cumbersome to re-connect, if you haven’t used the watch for a while.
