Almost nobody describes it as a transaction bank problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A private banker told me recently: &#8220;We are under pressure from both sides. From below by the neobanks. From above by you independent wealth managers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is right that something is squeezing. However, I see the direction differently. The pressure comes neither from above nor from below \u2013 it sits in the middle, in the transaction bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-why-the-squeeze-from-below-still-works\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why The Squeeze From Below Still Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The providers from below do not need to be excellent. Indeed, the <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/fintech-auswirkungen-auf-banken-vermogensverwaltung\/\">neobanks<\/a> offer limited service, no local depth and no personal relationship, and they still change what clients treat as normal. Moreover, that shift does not stop at a certain level of wealth, which is why <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/unabhangige-vermogensverwaltung-groste-auswahl\/\">moving further upmarket<\/a> is no real escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-independent-wealth-managers-are-a-mirror-not-a-threat\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Independent Wealth Managers Are A Mirror, Not A Threat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pressure &#8220;from above&#8221; is not really us either. After all, we hold no balance sheet, and we run no payment rails. Instead, we are more of a mirror: once a client can compare, they notice where the experience comes from another era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trust, discretion and advice still count at the top end. What has changed is simpler \u2013 clients no longer accept <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/mythen-des-digitalen-vermogensmanagements\/\">digital friction<\/a> as the price of a personal relationship. For example: <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/onboarding-erfahrung-vertraute-berge\/\">Onboarding<\/a> that takes weeks, <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/konsolidierte-vermogensberichterstattung\/\">Berichterstattung<\/a> that arrives as a PDF, data re-keyed by hand between <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/crm-core-unabhangige-vermogensverwalter-schweiz\/\">Systeme<\/a>. That is how it reaches the client, however strong the advice around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-hardest-project-in-the-industry\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Hardest Project In The Industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not a question of willingness. In many banks, people have worked on these topics for years, against <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/was-halt-das-schweizer-vermogensmanagement-zuruck\/\">old systems<\/a> and tight budgets. Furthermore, rebuilding a transaction bank remains one of the hardest projects in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not carry that task, because we do not own that layer. Instead, we select partners for <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/schlusselfaktoren-bei-der-auswahl-einer-depotbank\/\">Gewahrsam<\/a>, reporting and technology, and we change them when better ones appear. That is not a merit; it simply follows from our size. In addition, independence has its own price: no balance sheet, no lending, less scale.
