{"id":17070,"date":"2026-07-28T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/?p=17070"},"modified":"2026-08-15T13:42:55","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T11:42:55","slug":"what-is-holding-swiss-wealth-management-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/was-halt-das-schweizer-vermogensmanagement-zuruck\/","title":{"rendered":"Was h\u00e4lt das Schweizer Wealth Management zur\u00fcck?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vor etwas mehr als zehn Jahren besuchten uns zwei aufstrebende unabh\u00e4ngige Verm\u00f6gensverwalter aus Hongkong in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finma.ch\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Schweiz<\/a> um zu lernen, wie Verm\u00f6gensverwaltung in der Schweiz wirklich funktionierte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sie wollten eine, wie sie es nannten, \u201cHund-und-Pony-Show\u201d. Jeder, der mich kennt, wei\u00df, dass ich immer gerne Erfahrungen, Ideen und ein paar ehrliche Meinungen teile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Was mich heute \u00fcberrascht, ist, dass beide Verm\u00f6gensverwalter gr\u00f6\u00dfer geworden sind als <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/unabhangige-vermogensverwaltung-groste-auswahl\/\">die gr\u00f6\u00dften unabh\u00e4ngigen Verm\u00f6gensverwaltungsfirmen<\/a> in der Schweiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das sollte uns unbehaglich machen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-where-swiss-wealth-management-s-legacy-gets-in-the-way\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wo das Erbe von Swiss Wealth Management im Weg steht<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Schweizer Verm\u00f6gensmanagement hat die Geschichte, den Ruf, das Fachwissen und das Kundenvertrauen. Doch andere haben aufgebaut <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/unabhangige-vermogensverwaltung-europa-liegt-zuruck\/\">gr\u00f6\u00dfere unabh\u00e4ngige Plattformen<\/a> in k\u00fcrzerer Zeit. Was ist also schiefgelaufen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meiner Ansicht nach steht unser Erbe im Weg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Und mit Verm\u00e4chtnis meine ich nicht nur alte Technologie. Ich meine alte Annahmen, <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/incentivierungsstrukturen-private-banking\/\">alte Strukturen<\/a> und alte Definitionen davon, wie ein unabh\u00e4ngiger Verm\u00f6gensverwalter aussehen sollte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Viele <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/schweizer-eam-konsolidierung\/\">Schweizer Firmen<\/a> verlie\u00dfen die Banken, dachten aber weiterhin wie Banken. Sie kopierten die gleichen Prozesse, die gleiche Produktlogik und oft die gleiche fragmentierte Technologielandschaft. Sie wurden jedoch unabh\u00e4ngig im Eigentum, aber nicht immer im Denken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unser \u00d6kosystem macht es auch nicht einfacher. Verwahrbanken, Compliance-Anbieter, Portfoliomanagementsysteme, CRM-Plattformen und <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/vermogensverwaltung-amla\/\">regulatorische Anforderungen<\/a> alle spielen ihre Rolle, aber das Ergebnis ist oft eine Sammlung starker Einzelkomponenten, die nicht gut zusammenpassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-building-platforms-not-personal-franchises\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Plattformen bauen, nicht pers\u00f6nliche Franchises<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Viele Unternehmen sind auch als exzellente aufgestellt <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/partnerschaftsdynamiken-im-wealth-management\/\">Boutiquen<\/a> statt skalierbarer Institutionen. Dieses Modell kann profitabel und hoch angesehen sein, aber es ist selten <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/verschwinden-oder-verschmelzen\/\">w\u00e4chst zur Gr\u00f6\u00dfe einer kleineren Privatbank heran<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Um dieses Niveau zu erreichen, m\u00fcssen wir von Anfang an anders denken. Konkret ben\u00f6tigen wir st\u00e4rkere Datengrundlagen, standardisiertere Prozesse, eine bessere Technologieintegration, professionelle Governance und eine klarere Bereitschaft, Plattformen statt pers\u00f6nlicher Franchises aufzubauen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am wichtigsten ist, dass wir aufh\u00f6ren m\u00fcssen, das gestrige Modell zu sch\u00fctzen. Die eigentliche Frage ist nicht, wie Schweizer Verm\u00f6gensverwalter geringf\u00fcgig gr\u00f6\u00dfer werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stattdessen ist es das, was wir heute bauen w\u00fcrden, wenn wir von vorne anfangen und keinerlei Altlasten h\u00e4tten.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ein Teil der Antwort liegt bei den eigenen Institutionen der Branche. Verb\u00e4nde und Netzwerke gibt es im \u00dcberfluss, aber <a href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/herausforderungen-der-zusammenarbeit-im-vermogensmanagement\/\">ob sie wirklich zusammenarbeiten<\/a> ist eine separate Frage.<\/p><div style=\"display:flex; gap:10px;justify-content:\" class=\"wps-pgfw-pdf-generate-icon__wrapper-frontend\">\n\t\t<a  href=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17070?action=genpdf&amp;id=17070\" class=\"pgfw-single-pdf-download-button\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"https:\/\/vapa.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/pdf-svgrepo-com.svg\" title=\"PDF generieren\" style=\"width:auto; height:45px;\"><\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A little over ten years ago, two aspiring independent wealth managers from Hong Kong visited us in Switzerland to learn how Swiss wealth management really worked. They wanted what they called a \u201cdog and pony show.\u201d Anyone who knows me knows that I am always happy to share experience, ideas and a few honest opinions. What surprises me today is that both of those wealth managers have grown larger than the biggest independent wealth management firms in Switzerland. That should make us uncomfortable. Where Swiss Wealth Management&#8217;s Legacy Gets in the Way Swiss wealth management has the history, the reputation, the expertise and the client trust. Yet others have built larger independent platforms in less time. So what went wrong? In my view, our legacy is getting in the way. And by legacy, I do not only mean old technology. I mean old assumptions, old structures and old definitions of what an independent wealth manager should look like. Many Swiss firms left the banks but continued to think like banks.
